This Policy explains how we use cookies and similar technologies (collectively, “cookies”) on our website. For information on who we are, how we process your personal data and your rights, please see the Privacy Policy and the Impressum.

1) What are cookies and similar technologies?

Cookies are small files that the website stores on your device (computer, mobile, tablet) through your browser.

We also use similar technologies, such as Local Storage / Session Storage and pixels or web beacons, which allow information to be read from or stored in your browser. In this Policy, we refer to all of them collectively as “cookies”.

2) Controller and contact

The controller responsible for processing is the entity indicated in the Impressum (CMA Group | Auto Trade & Consulting / Check mein Auto, “CMA”).

Contact: info@checkmeinauto.com

3) Applicable legal framework

  • TTDSG § 25 (Germany): requires your prior consent to store information or access information already stored on your device, except when the cookie is strictly necessary to provide the service you have requested.
  • GDPR/DSGVO: for the subsequent processing of personal data obtained through cookies, the legal basis will be, depending on the case: consent (art. 6.1.a GDPR), or legitimate interest (art. 6.1.f GDPR) when strictly necessary technical cookies are involved.

4) Categories of cookies we use

We display a banner on your first visit to request your granular consent (Accept / Reject / Settings). You can withdraw or change it at any time.

On our site we use the following categories:

  • a) Technical or strictly necessary (always active): Essential for: navigating the site and displaying pages correctly; managing the cookie banner itself and your preferences; maintaining basic site and session security where applicable. These cookies do not require consent. Legal basis: art. 6.1.f GDPR (legitimate interest) and TTDSG § 25(2).
  • b) Preferences (functional): Improve the user experience, for example: remembering your preferred language or region. Legal basis: consent (art. 6.1.a GDPR; TTDSG § 25(1)).
  • c) Analytics / measurement: Help us understand how the site is used (page views, clicks, time on page, device types, etc.) to improve performance and content. We use Google Analytics with a privacy oriented configuration (for example, IP anonymisation and limited retention periods). Legal basis: consent (art. 6.1.a GDPR; TTDSG § 25(1)).
  • d) Marketing / embedded content: Allow third party content integrated into the site to load, such as YouTube videos or Google Maps. These services may place their own cookies and process data for their own purposes. They are only loaded when you have given consent for this category. Legal basis: consent (art. 6.1.a GDPR; TTDSG § 25(1)).

5) Consent management

When you enter the site, you will see a banner with options: Accept all cookies; Reject all non necessary cookies; Adjust your choice by category.

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time. You can also adjust your browser (see section 11) to block or delete cookies. Please note that blocking technical cookies may affect site functionality. For more granular management by category.

6) Third party cookies

In addition to our own cookies, we use third party cookies from providers who deliver services on our site: Google (Google Analytics, YouTube, Google Maps). These third parties may act as independent data controllers. For more information on how they process your data, please refer to their privacy policies. In any case, the use of these cookies on our site is based on your consent, which you can manage from the banner.

7) Retention periods

Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain for a defined period or until you manually delete them or withdraw your consent. Data derived from cookies is kept for as long as necessary for the stated purposes or until consent is withdrawn, as described in the Privacy Policy.
