Who we are and our approach

We are a German company founded by Spaniards and managed by Jonatan Rodríguez Álvarez, operating under the trade name “CMA Group | Auto Trade & Consulting” and the brand “Check mein Auto”. We specialize in vehicle technical inspections in Germany, with reports delivered within 24 hours. We offer on-site inspections in Germany and coordinate the entire import process for clients in Spain.

Our approach is to guide you through every step of the process: we help you buy with verified information, without rushing or surprises. Our goal is for you to make decisions based on real data, including the vehicle inspection in Germany, with a report within 24 hours. We coordinate every step with the seller and all other parties involved, and we protect your interests throughout the entire import process. If the transaction is successful for you, it’s successful for us too.

For over three years, we have specialized in vehicle inspection and export for Spanish clients, working daily with German car dealerships and buyers. Our team consists of native and advanced German speakers, expert inspection and diagnostic technicians, and dedicated operational staff who coordinate with sellers, transporters, and administrative agencies. Furthermore, we collaborate with a network of trusted suppliers to provide you with assistance from the initial vehicle inspection, including the German inspection with 24-hour report, to registration in Spain.

We do not sell vehicles, we are not a dealership, and we do not act on behalf of the seller. We do not manage customer funds or guarantee that the seller will accept a discount or a specific offer. We act exclusively on behalf of the customer as a technical and operational service to review, negotiate, and coordinate the necessary steps, including the vehicle inspection in Germany, with a report within 24 hours.

Methodology

Process and Services

It’s a preliminary filter to quickly separate cars with genuine potential from dubious listings. We analyze the ad and the seller to detect red flags, inconsistencies, and potential scam risks, allowing us to focus on-site inspections only on vehicles with the highest probability of success. The goal is to save you time, avoid unnecessary trips, and prioritize cars that truly deserve a thorough inspection.

We just need the link to the car ad you’re interested in. With that link, we’ll
analyze the ad, request additional information and documentation from the seller, and
perform basic seller checks.

You receive a brief preliminary report that includes:

  • Technical assessment of the listing and potential red flags.
  • Documentation and evidence we request from the seller (documents, invoices, VIN, history, videos, etc.).
  • Basic consistency check between what the listing claims and what the documentation confirms.
  • A seller check (online presence, reviews, available tax details, etc.) to assess their reliability and traceability.

No. The Professional Filter reduces risks and eliminates false positives, but it doesn’t replace an on-site technical inspection nor does it guarantee that the car is in perfect condition. The true confirmation of the vehicle’s condition comes with the on-site inspection, diagnostics, and then complete documentation. Even so, the filter prevents wasting time and money on vehicles that aren’t worth it.

It’s best if we contact them. We call in German, explain the scope of the visit (photos, OBD diagnosis, possible road test), and coordinate a date and time based on the seller’s availability and our schedule. This way, we avoid misunderstandings and arrive at the appointment fully prepared.

Before the appointment, we clearly explain what we will do, but if the seller still imposes limitations, we adapt the scope of the review to what they allow and inform you immediately. We document these limitations in the report so you are clear on what could and could not be reviewed.

If the seller sells the car or cancels before we travel, we’ll reschedule without any problem. If the cancellation or no-show occurs after we’ve already traveled or are at the meeting point, the standard terms apply: the full travel fee and a percentage of the inspection price are charged, as outlined in the Terms and Conditions. Depending on the situation and feasibility, we can consider rescheduling if the vehicle is still available or if you’d like to have another vehicle inspected.

We follow our own guide of more than 120 points that covers, among others:

  • Bodywork and paint: measurement with paint thickness gauge, detection of repaints, filler, dents, corrosion and panel alignment.
  • Lighting, glass and running gear: operation of headlights and tail lights, condition of windshield/mirrors, tyres and wheels.
  • Underbody and structure: underside inspection (exhaust, suspension, ball joints, mounts, potential structural damage, etc.).
  • Interior and safety: genuine wear and tear, controls and screens, airbags and seat belts, climate control and comfort features.
  • Engine and transmission: leaks or seepage, accessible belts, fluid levels, battery, cold start, thermal behaviour.
  • Electronic diagnostics: advanced OBD reading, active and historical fault codes, parameters and mileage consistency, within the technical limits of the vehicle.
  • Road test: steering, brakes, gearbox, parasitic noises and vibrations behaviour, whenever it is possible to perform.
  • Documentation: practical verification of TÜV, Teil I/II, COC, service book, invoices and data consistency.

Yes, professional OBD diagnostics are a key part of our methodology and we perform them whenever the vehicle allows. We use Launch X431 diagnostic equipment from an authorized supplier and other professional-grade tools. Readings are subject to each manufacturer’s technical limitations (locked or inaccessible modules, restricted data, etc.).

The road test is performed whenever:

  • The seller allows it.
  • The vehicle has valid plates and insurance.
  • The condition of the car, the environment and the weather allow it.

If any of these elements is missing (no plates/insurance, the car is not in safe condition, there are fuel/charge issues, or the environment/weather does not allow it), no road test is performed. In those cases, we intensify the static tests and parameter readings to give you the maximum evidence available.

Whenever possible, we request the use of a lift to complete the underbody inspection. If a lift is not available, we perform a visual inspection from the ground using flashlights and telescopic mirrors. This allows us to detect many problems, but there are logical limitations: certain minor leaks or corrosion in hidden areas may not be visible without disassembly or lifting the car.

As a general guideline, a complete inspection takes between 90 and 150 minutes. The exact time depends on the model, the vehicle’s condition, whether a lift is available, whether a road test can be performed, the amount of documentation, and the surrounding conditions. If additional checks are required, we will inform you before we begin.

We inspect passenger cars of all segments, as well as vans. For commercial vehicles, a specific surcharge may apply due to complexity and time involved; this will always be confirmed in advance in the quote.

Yes. We service hybrid (HEV/PHEV) and electric (BEV) vehicles. For electric vehicles, battery parameter readings (health, cycles, cells) depend on manufacturer-provided access and available tools. When a specific battery test is required, we try to coordinate it with the dealership.

Yes, and it’s actually advisable. “Approved used” seals offer peace of mind, but they don’t guarantee the car is free of defects or that everything advertised is accurate. In our inspections, we’ve detected undeclared repainting, out-of-schedule maintenance, outstanding recalls, abnormal wear and tear, and latent faults that aren’t always covered by the warranty.

Normally two paths open up:

  1. Walk away from the deal if the report reveals significant issues or a condition that does not suit you.
  2. Have us negotiate with the seller on your behalf, based on the actual condition detected (corrections, servicing, or financial/in-kind improvements, such as fitting new tyres when appropriate). With the counteroffer on the table, you decide whether to proceed or not.

If you walk away from that car, you will get a 10% discount on your next inspections (not
cumulative with each other).

Generally, no. Our schedule and logistics are carefully planned to allow us to dedicate sufficient time to each vehicle. Only in exceptional cases (same area, compatible schedules, and prior authorization from the seller) can we consider a second inspection during the same visit, subject to availability and with the corresponding surcharge.

Yes, for business-to-business (B2B) clients. We offer volume pricing and customized terms for retailers and companies. If you work with us regularly, you can request a specific proposal.

Content

Reports, photos and videos

We deliver a structured PDF and a media gallery. The report, written in clear technical language, details all the points reviewed, OBD readings, and observations on relevant findings (wear, inconsistencies, potential tampering, etc.). The photo and video gallery visually documents the findings so you can understand them without being physically present. The target is to exceed 100 images/videos when conditions allow.

Our goal is to deliver it within 24 hours of the review being completed. This is an approximate timeframe, but we typically meet it.

We deliver a wide selection, usually over 100 items, in HD quality. We prioritize clearly documenting everything relevant: details of the bodywork, underbody, interior, tires, screens, diagnostics, etc.

Live communication during the inspection (calls and video calls so you can see the car live and get your questions answered instantly) is included in the Multimedia Premium package.

Yes. The initial download link is available for 7 days. Within our 6-month custody period, we reissue the first time free of charge; from the second reissue onwards, a fee of €49 applies.

It is an optional extra that includes:

  • More than 170 photos and videos in 4K Ultra resolution.
  • Audio captured with a microphone.
  • POV recording of the entire inspection process and the road test, with technical narration from the inspector.
  • Detailed close-up of imperfections and key points.
  • Unlimited video calls during the inspection so you can follow it live.

We deliver the Premium Multimedia videos and photos in less than 24 hours from the inspection, as well as the report.

No. While the inspection is underway, you can request multiple video calls;
video calls during the inspection are unlimited within this service.

Acquisition

Negotiation and Purchase

We always negotiate after the inspection, with real data in hand, preferably on-site and in German. We use a technical argument based on the inspection findings to try to gain an advantage in price and/or in-kind improvements (maintenance, tires, seller’s warranty, accessories, etc.).

It’s possible, but not advisable. Negotiating “blindly” over the phone, without knowing the vehicle’s actual condition, greatly reduces your leverage: if negotiable elements later appear (overdue maintenance, tires at their limit, minor defects, etc.), the seller can claim the price was already fixed. The most effective approach is to negotiate after the inspection and, if possible, in person.

Whenever possible, it’s best not to finalize the price before our visit. A price set without review reduces the room for negotiation, and from a distance, the seller’s concessions are usually smaller. Even so, if you’ve already negotiated, we review the file and, if we see real room for improvement in price or terms, we try to secure it. If we believe there’s no room for negotiation, we’ll tell you transparently.

We calculate the variable fee on the total savings achieved versus the listing price at the moment we begin handling the case with the seller:

  • Direct price reduction.
  • Plus the value of in-kind improvements (servicing included, new tyres, extension of the seller’s commercial warranty, etc.).

Indicative example: if the listing was €20,000 and you close at €19,000 including €500 in
servicing and €500 in tyres, the total savings are €2,000 and our commission is
25% of those €2,000.

First, we ask the seller for invoices, purchase orders, or quotes detailing the included upgrades. If such documentation is unavailable, we use an average market value (official price lists, manufacturer’s retail price, spare parts catalogs, etc.), discuss it with you, and document it in writing before invoicing.

We centralise all communication with the dealership and save you the hassle of dealing with calls, language barriers and paperwork. In practice, we take care of:

  • Being your single point of contact with the dealership.
  • Collecting and verifying contracts, orders and invoices.
  • Proposing corrections to the seller whenever we detect any.
  • Preparing the remote signing: we send you the original document along with a translated and annotated copy in English.
  • Guiding you on how and when to make the payment to the seller, keeping a proper record of it.
  • Following up until the vehicle is delivered or collected.

By default, we centralize the operational relationship, and you only intervene at the decision-making points: approval of the review, the contract, payment, and delivery. We keep you updated with clear summaries, and if you prefer to participate in specific calls, we’ll prepare a brief script and handle the closing.

We’ve sent you the original sales contract and a translated and annotated version in Spanish, highlighting amounts, deadlines, delivery conditions, the seller’s commercial guarantees, any extras/charges, and any other important points. The goal is for you to understand, clearly and practically, what you are agreeing to in each clause.

Yes. We conduct a consistency check: buyer information, vehicle details,
amounts, agreed-upon equipment, car condition, deadlines, and addendums. If anything doesn’t add up,
we request a written correction. If it’s still unclear, we pause the process until it is.

Management

Logistics and Documentation

The car travels on a car carrier truck, with professional loading and unloading, and is insured throughout the journey according to the transport company’s policy. When possible, we arrange a door-to-door service. If access to your address is not possible for the truck, we will arrange a nearby and secure delivery point (gas station, wide avenue, logistics center, etc.).

On average, transport from Germany to Spain for standard passenger cars takes between 10 and 15 days from the confirmation of the shipping order. The specific timeframe depends on the collection point, the planned route, load consolidation, and the carrier’s operating conditions.

We handle coordinating the quote, shipping order, and documentation with our transport partner. The contract and payment for the transport service are formalized directly between you and the carrier, but we ensure everything is in order.

We take this into account when planning the delivery. If a trailer can’t access your street due to height, width, or time restrictions, we’ll agree on a nearby meeting point where it can maneuver without issue. We’ll notify you in advance and coordinate the time for a quick and safe delivery.

The price is calculated per route and operation, not per exact kilometer. Factors influencing the price include the origin, destination, vehicle size and weight, whether it starts, urgency, truck access, and route occupancy. As a reference, on typical routes from Germany to Spain for standard passenger cars, transport usually ranges between €800 and €1,000. Prices may increase for SUVs/vans, complex pickups or deliveries, destinations with low traffic, or vehicles that won’t start/run. We will always provide you with a specific quote before you make a decision.

We handle the export registration process with the German vehicle registration office and the insurance company: fees, license plates, and temporary insurance policy so the vehicle can be legally driven on the road until it arrives in Spain. We coordinate appointments and documentation, accompany you in person, and act as your translator and advisor throughout the entire process. You are responsible for paying the fees and insurance.

No. Export registrations are only required if you prefer to come and collect the vehicle yourself.

Yes, and yes. At the office that corresponds to our location, they require the buyer and the vehicle to be present on the day of the transaction. They do not accept applications submitted in advance or through powers of attorney, authorizations, or submitted documentation: without a buyer and without the car present, they will not process the application.

No. The removal and use of temporary license plates are the responsibility of the buyer listed in the file. Third parties are not authorized to drive with these plates.

It is not recommended. Yellow license plates are intended for limited use within Germany, and their insurance coverage is usually restricted geographically. To leave the country and cross borders, the appropriate export procedure is required. Driving outside of Germany with yellow license plates can result in vehicle impoundment and significant fines.

Export registrations are issued for 5, 15, or 30 days, depending on the case. The associated insurance covers mandatory third-party liability, but not damage to the vehicle itself, theft, or roadside assistance. For safety and overall cost reasons, we generally recommend transport by truck rather than driving the entire journey to Spain.

There is no express service. The process requires a prior appointment at the registry office. We
will expedite it as much as possible within the available schedule, but the timeframe depends on
the registry office.

For a standard car, expect to pay approximately €300 in total (fees, license plates, and temporary insurance). The final amount will vary depending on the chosen duration (5/15/30 days), the insurance company, and the specifics of your application.

We handle the entire vehicle registration process through our partner agency: calculating and paying taxes and fees, vehicle inspection (ITV), obtaining the reduced technical data sheet if needed, submitting and tracking applications with the DGT (Spanish Traffic Authority) and the City Council (IVTM), and issuing license plates.
We act on your behalf with the appropriate authorization, so you only need to sign the necessary documents and be available when required.

We handle the entire process with the agency and the authorities. We’ll keep you informed of every step, but you won’t need to deal directly with the Traffic Department or the administration, except to sign any essential documents.

Yes. The goal is to deliver the car ready to drive. We’ll send you the temporary registration in PDF format so you can arrange insurance before delivery, and, when applicable, we’ll install the permanent acrylic license plates.

With a valid vehicle inspection certificate (ITV) and complete documentation, registration is usually completed within 2–5 business days. Specific timeframes depend on the workload of the authorities and the vehicle registration agency.

We can give you an approximate estimate of the vehicle registration tax, based on emissions, age, and current regulations. This estimate is for informational purposes only to help you decide; the final tax assessment is always determined by the Tax Agency using the data and documents in your file.

The vehicle inspection station (ITV) usually returns the original documentation on the same day as the inspection or within a very short time, depending on the specific station’s procedures.

It is a technical report issued by a registered engineer that summarizes the main characteristics of the vehicle so that the vehicle inspection station (ITV) can issue the Spanish vehicle registration document (ITV card). It is requested when the Certificate of Conformity (COC) is missing or when the COC does not cover certain key information (specific variants, tires, modifications, old imports, etc.).

It is issued by a registered engineer. We work with trusted engineers and we handle the process for you. The usual turnaround time is between 24 and 48 hours, depending on the complexity of the case, and you don’t need to contact anyone else.

Reach

Coverage geographic and schedule

Our operational base is in Philippsburg, 76661. We operate throughout Germany
within a standard radius of up to 450 km from this base. This ordinarily excludes
Berlin, Hamburg, and Leipzig, as well as locations beyond this radius, unless
with prior written agreement and a specific quote.

Yes, on a case-by-case basis. For vehicles that warrant it due to their value, rarity, or condition, we can travel beyond 450 km with a specific quote and logistical surcharge.
In these cases, we assess the feasibility, cost, and date before confirming the appointment.

Yes, we check on Saturdays. We do not operate on German public holidays and follow the Baden-Württemberg calendar.

Under normal circumstances, we can schedule an appointment within approximately 24–48 hours of receiving the listing and confirming with the seller. When the appointment is scheduled more than 72 hours in advance, we recheck with the seller 24 hours prior to ensure the vehicle is still available.

The travel cost is calculated from our base in Philippsburg (76661) to the seller’s exact location, taking the fastest route. The rate per kilometer and specific conditions are detailed on the pricing page.

Yes. We have specific rates for dealerships, fleets, and other professionals. If you work with us regularly, please tell us your approximate volume, areas, and vehicle type, and we’ll send you a customized proposal.

If you cancel with little notice of a confirmed appointment (for example, within 24–48 hours), we may retain up to a percentage of the affected service to cover organization and scheduling costs. If the technician is already en route or at the meeting point, the planned travel expenses will also be charged. Specific details are available in your Terms and Conditions, which also govern the right of withdrawal for consumers.

If the seller cancels, fails to appear, or the car is unavailable after the trip, the full trip fee and a percentage of the inspection cost will be charged. Depending on the situation, we can consider rescheduling the inspection for another date or for another vehicle.

Yes, provided the following conditions are met:

  • The location of the vehicle does not change. If the new location is further away, the difference in travel is adjusted; if it is closer, the amount already paid is kept.
  • There is availability in the schedule.
  • The seller of the new car confirms the appointment.

If you contract as a consumer (B2C) remotely, the 14-day right of withdrawal established by German law applies. Your Terms and Conditions explain how to exercise this right, in what cases it may be forfeited (for example, when the service has been completed at your express request), and how the proportional part of the price is calculated when the service has already begun or third-party costs have been incurred.
